3/8" size is perfect for salon bows, topknots and show banding on small dogs or shorter bits your growing in. if you have very thin coat then go with 5/16" and if you are wrapping or banding large/thick sections go with wrapping bands(like st poodles. )
I used the 5/16 for smallest section between eyes on my poodle, 5/16 then 3/8 for front of ears when there was layers i was growing out.
Note from Joanne: these elastic bands are slightly thicker/stronger than the medium/light. They have been compared to Lainee bands and said to be superior by many customers. The owner of company shows Havanese and was at Westminster in final ring this year!
