Pineapple Trim the how to with pics & Video 0
Why should you do trims like this? well some will think its ridiculous, and tell you so, but can you believe that the post of this groom on facebook is at 50,000 views? only 5 comments on it being silly/absurd, and it was great way to get my page noticed. Plus if there are pet owners who will let you have creative fun, this helps them to come looking for you!
So you want to try a cut-in pattern like the Armadillo or Pineapple but don't know where to start? Well learn from my mistakes, and gather a few tips to make your attempts successful(cause it takes a while to grow out!)
Step 1: PREP PREP PREP!!! make sure to get that coat straight so that your lines are accurate. I like to use K9 Competition Crisp shampoo & nano mist to prep all my Asian Style grooms. This gives it enough body to have definition and not look like a flat pattern. All of K9 competition products work excellent on yorkies. Even their Keratin line isn't too heavy, and will not make them greasy.
Effects of K9 Keratin
Here showing the amazing restorative effects of K9 competition Keratin line with coat cure on a dry flakey, brittle hair of a yorkie. Never have a greaseball yorkie again! Quality you can see.
What I Use
This deep cleansing shampoo gently removes build-up of active additives, excessive dirt, oil and pollutants that weigh the coat down. After strip off, use K9 Competition Aloe Vera Shampoo and Conditioner to give optimal coat status and long lasting result.
is a leave-in conditioner with quick antistatic effect and powerful detangling effect. It makes the coat easier to brush and gives great volume and structure. It counter-acts tangles and wears and makes the coat more manageable. It is suitable for all types of coats and animals. The extremely small Nanoliposomes penetrates the scales of the hair shaft and give that extra top finish you aim for.
Promotes the natural crisp feeling in the coat and adds volume. It will highlight all colors. Shampoo as often as you want without damaging the coat. With Aloe Vera to calm and moist the skin. Gives a fresh scent. For competition and daily use..
This is not my work, merely a pic i wished i would have looked at before i winged it. I like how they followed the lines around the body
Again, not my work, but i wanted you to see someones nicely proportioned trim with a shorter length of hair for comparison. nicely done.

Asian Style Mickey Mouse head- How to- with video 1You can see how the general shape of his head is changed by leaving more hair on the top of his nose(it looked like it had been shaved before), on the sides of ear to create that full round "Mickey Mouse" ear, in front of ears to soften the bat ear look, and legs to finish the cuteness factor to the max
Flared Legs- How to do it- with video 0
Everyone loved that cute look of flared legs, but some think its a lot of extra work or time to achieve it. It's Not! Once you know how to set the lines, this style can be effectively transitioned to any breed or mix like the one pictured above. see a simple video
TOOLS USED: Wahl Berretto cordless clipper(uses 5-1 blades), with blade set to shortest setting(#40), and Wahl stainless steel guard comb- the dark purple one, #4 or 1/4" length was used to blend the short body and SKIM down the legs to set my shape. If your body length is longer than that comb select a longer one. I find the two shortest guard combs easiest for skimming. Sharkfin Shears- Great White Chunkers, and Platinum Curves, and Medalist. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below.
